Academic programs > Industrial and systems engineering
It overlaps with other fields such as Information and Communication Sciences and Technologies insofar as they use identical modelling tools for company production and information systems. Project Management and Human Resources Management come within both Industrial and Systems Engineering and Economic and Social Sciences.
It makes extensive use of modeling based on Discrete Mathematics and Stochastic Modeling. Operational Research, Scheduling and Optimization are the key topics of this field.
All these areas are also part of the generic engineering methods.
Major: Industrial Engineering
Goal: to provide students with sufficient knowledge to understand the legal, economic, political, social and technological background of industry and business.
Major: Quality Engineering
Goal: to introduce students to the main tools used in Quality Engineering, including metrology.
Major: Operations Management in Production and Logistics
Goal: to give students the necessary skills to design and manage production systems and to manage logistics (transport, distribution, supplying, stocking) and quality management issues.
Career opportunities: in production, service and consultancy companies
Major: Quality and Reliability of Systems
Goal: to form engineers able to run the organization, statistics and optimization of quality, and to ensure the reliability of products and of production systems as well as their maintenance.
Major: Industrial Engineering
Goal: to form engineers with competencies in three areas: scientific management of production, decision-making systems engineering, and decision-making assistance for production systems.
Major: Industrial Engineering
Goal: to form engineers competent in the following areas: Production Systems Management, Industrial Project Planning, Business Information Systems, and, Development of Technology in Companies.
Major: Industrial Engineering and Management
Goal: to form engineers competent in Projects Engineering, Territorial Engineering, Technical Innovation and International Finances.
Master's program in Entrepreneurship and Technology and Company Information Systems. Accredited by the "Conférence des Grandes Ecoles".
Master's program in Design and Manufacturing Innovation Strategy. Accredited by the "Conférence des Grandes Ecoles".
Master's program in Materials and Production Engineering in which industrial engineering techniques are used to develop materials.
Master's program in Management of Logistics and Production Systems
Courses are based on industrial engineering and more specifically on the interface between management and technology.
Most courses are taught in English.
The program is accredited by the French Ministry of Education as a "Diplôme National de Master".
Research Master's in Control, computer and decision systems
Research Master's in computer science called Digital and Symbolic Algorithmics, which gives basic knowledge in Industrial Engineering.
Research Master's in Automatic Control and Production Systems.
The part of the program devoted to Production Systems covers three areas: Planning, Scheduling, Optimization and Evaluation of Logistic and Production Systems and Services, Statistical Methods in Quality Control, and Analysis and Control of Discrete Event Systems.
After completing a Master's degree or equivalent degree the students can earn a doctoral degree in the following fields:
Industrial organization for supply-chain design and management, and risk, especially in projects management
Planning, Scheduling, Optimization and Evaluation of Logistic and Production Systems and Services
Statistical Methods in Quality Control
Analysis and Control of Discrete Event Systems.
Industrial Engineering offered by three research teams:
the Centre de Gestion Scientifique, the Centre de Sociologie de l'Innovation and the Centre d'Industrie Economique.
Industrial Engineering topics comprising:
Decision Aid Methods For Industrial Management
SME Networks and Virtual Enterprises Modelling.
