About the GEM > Graduate school of Albi, Alès, Douai, Nantes

The A2DN (Albi, Ales, Douai, Nantes) Graduate School includes four of the seven Engineering Schools of the GEM (Groupe des Ecoles de Mines) Group.  These seven Schools are Higher Education Establishments supported by the Ministry of Industry.

Mission

The mission of these Schools is to train engineers and PhDs with a strong technological and business background to meet the developmental needs of industry ( including the service sector) and of private and public Research.  These Schools also have as a goal the training and support of entrepreneurs who start up businesses necessary to the development of economic, social, and cultural activities.

The two other fundamental missions of the Ecoles de Mines are on research and economic development.  To this effect, the Schools have numerous Laboratories and Incubators at their disposal. These technical installations enable the Schools to innovate, to come up with novel solutions to questions and problems generated in the industrial and economic sectors, to produce new knowledge and competencies, to imagine new applications based on recent scientific discoveries, and to create new activities by giving impetus to the creation of new businesses.
