Sistem, the Gemdoc's server
The libraries and resources centres of the GEM (Group of Ecoles des Mines) are gathered under the sub-group Gemdoc. Gemdoc's objectives is to facilitate the sharing of the schools'electronic resources and to develop cooperation tools such as Sistem. SISTEM is not a finite product. It constantly adapts to the changes in teaching and research operated within each school as well as to the changes in the information world in general.

SISTEM offers each school a unique access entry to its internal electronic resources (schools subscriptions) or to its internet available resources. The server discriminates between the machines from each of the schools and those from outside the Mines network. This allows every person to have access to the information sources that are really available to him or her : intranet of each school, common intranet, internet.
Teaching tools and guides
Sistem optimizes the use of resources by guiding each user from his/her different needs, points of views and questions. Training sessions are available in each school to make this technical tool accessible to all.
