Throughout the scientific and industrial history of France, the education of its elites has been of highest priority. This tradition of excellence rests most specifically on the Grandes Ecoles, whose reputation greatly oversteps France's borders.

The GEM schools of engineering are amongst the oldest and highly ranked Grandes Ecoles. GEM graduates possess a broad range of expertise. They are appreciated for their ability to manage complexity and to hold positions of the highest level of responsibility.

Doctoral training is an essential part of the GEM programs and is founded on the expertise and diversity of its research teams. PhD graduates from the GEM are much in demand in national and international research teams and in industry.

What is the GEM? - «Strength through unity»

Designed to form high-level engineers, the GEM (Groupe des Ecoles des Mines) network brings together 7 prestigious French engineering schools of reference, offering programs that cover the entire range of sciences and technologies that are necessary for the development of industry.

The GEM awards the following degrees.

- Doctorates (PhD);
- three Master's level degrees :

- the «Diplôme d'Ingénieur» - Joint Master's in Engineering and management
- the "Master Recherche" (MSc)
- the "Master Professionnel" (MEng)


 


All of these degrees are accredited at national level. The programs offered by GEM in its three Graduate Schools, are taught by highly qualified professors, researchers, and professionals from the corporate world. They are the stepping stones to promising and fascinating international careers beyond simply technical and scientific expertise.

The GEM network combines the standard of excellence and the power of a large organization. The GEM counts 5000 students in all engineering fields, with 1500 graduates per year and 30 000 alumni to offer their experience and support.
