The Diplôme d'Ingénieur - Joint Master's (Double Major - Engineering and Management)

image

In France, an engineer's training is founded, after secondary school, on two academic periods.

A three-year undergraduate study period, generally in Grandes Ecoles preparatory classes and then in the Grandes Ecoles themselves.
A graduate study period made up of the two last years in the Grande Ecole. The three graduate schools of the GEM combine the coursework of these two graduate years as a whole.

The Diplôme d'Ingénieur is a Joint Master's which rewards a double major course:

 An in-depth technological training in a given field (in the student's future professional field), comparable to the syllabus of a traditional Master's program;

A general methods course for engineers, common to all programs in all fields . This includes acquisition of essential mathematical tools (design, decision-making), foundations of management, notions of law, economics, international perspectives, new human and social challenges, requirements and challenges of sustainable development as well as general culture...

The GEM engineer is able to manage major corporate projects and to assume management functions up to the highest levels.

Diplôme national de Master (National Master's Degree)

MASTER RECHERCHE (MSc) AND MASTER PROFESSIONNEL (MEng)

According to the program, these Master's provide an introductory preparation to the PhD or a very high level of professional specialization.
The programs are addressed to students who are prolonging their studies or to engineers already engaged in professional life. Full details are given in the program descriptions.

Doctoral Programs (Ph.D)

The GEM doctoral programs take place within the labs of the graduate schools and share three common features:
image Highly selective admission
image Personalized training
image Close ties with companies

The quality of the research within the GEM and the quality of the management guarantees to the doctoral candidates a propitious environment for the completion of theses of international dimension.

Mastères spécialisés (Post-Master's programs)

These programs, offered by each school, enable experienced industrial executives to follow a one-year specialized training program, including a professional thesis in a company. Their success lies in the quality of the experts involved in the program - in particular in industry.
