Partnerships > International
Over the years the 7 GEM schools have individually built strong links with close to 280 partners representing 340 agreements (institutional, Socrates and Double Diplomas). Since December 2002, however, the GEM has established partnerships in the name of all the schools together and thus has positioned itself as one of the foremost institutes of technology in France.

The GEM across the world
Through its numerous bilateral agreements the GEM has established strong partnerships in Europe (Germany, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Norway, United Kingdom, Sweden, Switzerland ...) and across the globe (Brazil, Canada, Chile, India, United States ...).
At present the GEM is targeting cooperation notably with Brazil, India, China and Eastern European countries
International students
International students represent 18% of a total student population of 6200 as follows :
- 15% of the 3600 « Diplôme d'Ingénieur » students (Joint Master's in Engineering and Management)
- 31% of the 1000 doctoral students
- 80% of students in the specialized programs
International exposure for GEM students
Approximately 15% of GEM « Diplôme d'Ingénieur » students do a period of study abroad, usually in their final year. Most of the students also carry out an internship abroad in a company or in one of the GEM partner laboratories.
International recruitment
International recruitment is a GEM priority. By recruiting international students of high caliber the GEM aims to become a truly international group with a target of 30% of its student population coming from abroad.
To ensure a high-level international student intake, a rigorous selection process has been set up via a written and oral examination.
For scholarships and grants early application to the French Embassy is strongly recommended.
