Industrial Partnerships

The concept of industry-oriented research is one of the features of the GEM. With a long tradition of trust between the GEM and the corporate world, the GEM has developed industry-oriented research for companies of all sizes and fields through its 46 research centers located throughout France. This form of « partnership research » is built through exchanges between researchers and industrialists where the scientific and industrial dimension are in constant interaction.

Such technology transfer activities , managed by  « ARMINES » a GEM management structure, function on the basis of co-financing : national, European (through European Framework Projects) or by companies. These research activities also provide the opportunity for doctoral training -250 PhDs per year (1000 doctoral students), many of whom subsequently follow careers in industry. This represents an essential element in the transfer of knowledge and technology supported by some 2000 publications per year.

Today, research contracts worth 34.5 million € are managed by ARMINES for the GEM. A quarter of the entire technology transfer activities in France are carried out by the GEM

The close links and numerous contracts with industry also give rise to numerous internship opportunities  in companies.
