The aim of the Scientific Management Centre is to contribute to the development of knowledge on the operation and transformation of organizations through training and teaching activities between which synergy is vital.

The Centres three principal research themes and fields are as follows:

 Definition, organization and evaluation of work : production systems, quality control, performance indicators, autonomy in the work place, classifications, certification bodies, training, recomposition of expertise and professional qualifications, working conditions and working hours and schedules.

 Modernization of Government, public policies, relations between institutions: public companies and services, contracting and incentive measures, role of operating innovations, decentralization, regulation of public expenditure, horizontal cooperation between institutions, voluntary agreements and regulations, environmental policies.

 Activities related to product design, innovation and management of R&D: links between surveys, design, methods and manufacturing processes; project teams, relations with the various trades, capitalization of skills, design of services, management of R&D, piloting of innovation, management of technological resources, innovative firms and growth.
