In synergy with the department's other activities (engineering and technical support in information technology and telecommunications, technology transfer to industry), two main areas are being developed in the field of Information Technology and Telecommunications and Industrial Engineering:
simplifying the production of complex and distributed software by means of component-based software engineering, aspect-oriented programming and view points (applications in information systems),
monitoring and controlling non-stationary systems (applications to land transport and to supervision and control of industrial systems).

Computer Science and Telecommunications :
LAN - 1500 connections, French national telematic network (Transpac, ISDN), 3 Internet gateways, gateway to the global intranet of the French ministry of finance and industry (MINEFI).
12 multimedia classrooms, visioconference. A demonstration platform for Information Technology and Telecommunications and Industrial Engineering. 40 servers and communication gateways, Internet sites, and videotex services. Management and administration of 1600 workstations.

PLC, Industrial networks, Supervision software, Computerized numerical controls, Microcontrollers Programming and Emulating tools, Electronic CAD, Workshop for printed boards realization, Real time OS, Protocol and logic analysers.
Production Systems Design :
Manufacturing e-solutions, Mechanical CAD, Manufacturing and Simulation software, Robots, High pressure water jet cutting machines, Computerized numerical controls.
