Research > Metrology - Quality Department
Based on the strength of its expertise in the field of metrology and quality, the department offers a wide range of technological possibilities ranging from testing and calibrations within the framework of national recognition, to three-dimensional measurement of mechanical parts, sing contact or optical measuring techniques (for deformable parts).
Our main research topic is characterization of new materials for electronics based on conductive polymers. This study program has been built upon our expertise in Electromagnetic Compatibility in the field of electronics and the discovery of the new possibilities offered by conductive polymers. The rigorous metrological standards in that research area allow appropriate measuring techniques to be developed for characterizing these new materials.

The department makes use of air-conditioned telemonitored laboratories in order to reduce uncertainty to its lowest level: the laboratories ensure the traceability of its test and calibration equipment and follow them by control charts.
The technical equipment cover a large calibration domain : from 1 mg to 2 t, from 0,5 mm to 200 m, from 5 bars to 1000 bars (relative pressure), from 1 cm3 to 5 m3 (in laboratories) and the capacity measurement of tanks (on industrial sites).
Measurement instruments are specified to the tridimensional control and the digitalization of any profile of mechanical pieces.
The electrical domain is covered by vector network analysers in the frequency range from 9 kHz to 4 GHz and the measurements of the conducted and radiated perturbations are realized in our semi-anechoïc chamber (5,2 m x 2,6 m x 2,2 m).
An environment with the following characteristics can be created in our climatic chamber : -10°C to 40° C, up to 85% of hygrometry.
